Things To Do Homecoming Weekend, Brought To You By CSU Off-Campus Housing

It is finally starting to cool off in Fort Collins (kinda), and you know what that means — homecoming weekend is near! Colorado State University’s homecoming begins on Wednesday, October 10 and ends on Sunday, October 14 — with a number of events spread out across the week. But what exactly is there to do during homecoming weekend near our student apartments in Fort Collins?

In today’s blog post we will be discussing a few of our favorite homecoming weekend events, after all, here at the Landmark Apartments, we are within walking distance of most. Continue reading to learn more about the must-see events this next homecoming, brought to you by your local apartments near CSU.

Friday, October 12 — The Homecoming Parade

As a student, it might seem lame to attend a parade on a Friday night when you would much rather… do whatever it is that you do on Friday nights, but the CSU homecoming parade is actually quite fun. Beginning at 4:30, long before your commitments for the evening, you can watch community and university floats pass by while the CSU marching band cheers them on. The event is located on the North side of campus, meaning it is a quick walk through campus from our Colorado State University off-campus housing.

Saturday, October 13 — The Coors Light Ram walk Tailgate

If a “Ram Walk” sounds foreign to you, you are probably under the age of 50. The Ram Walk, an event that ended nearly 50 years ago when the football field was moved off-campus, has returned with the completion of Sonny Lubick field at Canvas Credit Union Stadium just last year. Watch the Rams walk in as they prepare to challenge New Mexico! Our student apartments in Fort Collins are less than a mile from the stadium, meaning parking is the least of your worries.

Saturday, October 13 — The Homecoming Football Game

The University Of New Mexico Lobos may have a better record than our home team Rams, but they also haven’t had the challenge of playing two SEC schools, one of which we won. Walk down from our CSU off-campus housing and watch the Rams as they re-balance their record with some conference play!

Sunday, October 14 — The Homecoming 5K

The homecoming 5k is a staple of Colorado State University’s homecoming weekend — and a great way to end too! Join students, locals, and parents as they trot around campus while being led by CAM the ram! Over 1,500 people showed up last year, so why don’t you make it 1,501?  The best part is, you can run straight through the finish line right to your student apartments in Fort Collins, after all, we are just a stone’s throw from the edge of campus.
